Nursery Manager

Job advert

Feversham Education Trust is looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Manager to lead our early years provision, First Steps Nursery.

The position of Nursery Manager is a permanent, full time all year round post. A key element of the Nursery Manager duties will be to promote business growth and facilitate staff development, whilst upholding the high standards of the nursery. As Manager, you will lead your team, ensuring that a caring and educational environment is available for all of our children within a warm and welcoming atmosphere for parents and carers.

First Steps offers three separate learning and care facilities for babies, 2 - 4 year olds and a dedicated pre-school environment, all supported by highly trained and qualified staff.

Due to the continuous drive and commitment from the nursery Directors and Feversham Education Trust, First Steps has continued to expand and grow in both size and reputation.

A significant capital investment given by the Council along with a strategic reinvestment plan by the Directors has allowed First Steps to now offer care and education for over 100 children in its bespoke learning environments. The nursery operates between 7.30am and 5.30pm, all year round. Fee paying and funded places are available.

First Steps also actively supports apprenticeship pathways for young adult workers to gain valuable work experience working closely with local business and higher education providers. Staff training and development is encouraged as is work experience placement for secondary age learners.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a minimum NVQ Level 3/4 Childcare, Learning and Development (or an equivalent Early Years Qualification or working towards this).
  • Have an excellent understanding of the EYFS and OFSTED standards
  • Have at least 2 years previous experience working with Children and managing teams and the daily running of a Nursery
  • Have excellent knowledge of all safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Have excellent knowledge of SEND

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting a quality provision and expect all staff to share this commitment. All nursery staff will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

We are committed to equal opportunities and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
